Reuse ingredients and recipes
Save ingredients once, find them through a searchable library, and use them across recipes. Categories help organize larger collections.
RecipeGain for small food businesses
RecipeGain is built for businesses that repeatedly cost recipes, update ingredient prices, plan recipe output, and review selling-price decisions — without adopting a full POS, inventory, or restaurant-operations suite.
The current Android build supports English (US), USD workflows and the accepted US sales-tax input model. Google Play billing, Premium entitlement verification and reviewer access are implemented and verified in Internal Testing. A public store link will be added only after the Production release is confirmed.
Free web calculators · no account required · calculated in your browser
Why not another free calculator?
One recipe is easy to cost in a browser. The workload changes when the same ingredients appear in many recipes, purchase prices change, output can be sold by portion or weight, and production quantities have to be scaled without rebuilding the recipe every time.
RecipeGain is designed for that recurring workflow: save ingredients and recipes, maintain source prices and yields, recalculate affected recipes, and scale a saved recipe for production from the same structured data.
What RecipeGain already does
Save ingredients once, find them through a searchable library, and use them across recipes. Categories help organize larger collections.
Update a saved ingredient purchase price, see which active recipes are affected, and recalculate connected recipe pricing from the new source cost.
Track ingredient recipe cost, Food Cost, tracked contribution, margin, markup, manual selling price, and target-based pricing with exact money arithmetic.
A recipe can yield portions or an explicit finished-product mass. When the required exact bridge exists, costing and selling can be evaluated per portion or per kilogram without inferring finished yield from raw ingredient weight.
Optional preparation time and labor cost can participate in total tracked cost while ingredient Food Cost remains distinct from other recorded costs.
Saved recipes can be used as recursive subrecipes with explicit usage in the child's supported yield basis. RecipeGain carries their current value through the dependency chain and prevents cyclic references.
The Production Calculator scales a saved recipe to a target production quantity and calculates direct components, nested subrecipes, and aggregated terminal ingredient requirements from the accepted recipe structure.
The current product includes saved production calculations and history, plus PDF and system share/send output. These professional output actions are part of the accepted Premium capability boundary.
Formula and input explainability keeps costing decisions inspectable instead of hiding them behind a black box. Tax-rate normalization uses rates entered by the user rather than automatic tax determination.
Repeatable workflow
RecipeGain focuses on recipe economics and production quantities. It does not try to become your POS, purchasing system, or restaurant back office.
Record purchase quantity, price, and compatible units.
Use saved ingredients, nested subrecipes, optional labor, and a portion or finished-mass yield with the selling basis your recipe supports.
Inspect Food Cost, tracked contribution, margin, markup, and target-based selling-price calculations on the selected sale unit.
Choose a saved recipe and target quantity to calculate the direct, nested, and terminal ingredients required for that production run.
Change a saved source price and recalculate the active recipes it affects.
Calculator vs. RecipeGain
Accepted Free and Premium boundary
RecipeGain already has a store-agnostic Free/Premium policy in the native product. Android Google Play billing is implemented. The public US Google Play Production release is still being finalized, so this page does not yet present a public purchase button or storefront price.
US storefront pricing is intentionally not shown until the relevant billing and release gates are accepted.
Focused by design
RecipeGain sits between a one-off calculator and a large operations platform. Its production workflow scales recipe quantities; it does not turn the product into inventory, purchasing, POS, or a full restaurant management system.
Who the workflow fits
Useful when recipe costs, yield, production quantities, and menu-price decisions are still managed by the owner or a small team rather than a dedicated back-office system.
Useful for repeatable recipe costing, finished-mass or portion yield, labor, subrecipes, and scaling saved recipes for production — without claiming bakery order management, inventory, packaging cost, labels, nutrition/allergen compliance, or storefront features.
Useful when the main job is keeping recipe cost, production quantity, and pricing decisions current across a focused menu, not running a complete restaurant ERP.
Current product status
RecipeGain supports Android and Windows, remains offline-first for core work, and does not require a mandatory account. The Android build already includes Google Play billing, signed Premium entitlement verification and the verified Google reviewer-access path.
The Android build is in the final Google Play publication lane. Windows commercial distribution and licensing remain a separate later task. Until Google Play Production is confirmed, this page does not present a public download link.
You can use the free browser calculators now without an account.
Calculate a recipe freeNot as an accepted English-US release. The current Android build supports English (US), USD workflows and the accepted US sales-tax input model, but its public Google Play Production release is not yet confirmed.
Yes. The current product supports recipe yield as portions or explicit finished mass, an optional exact portion bridge, and per-portion or per-kilogram sale basis when the required conversion data exists.
Yes. The current Production Calculator scales a saved recipe to a target quantity and calculates direct components, nested subrecipes, and terminal ingredient requirements. It is not an inventory have/missing system.
The accepted current model gives Free users up to 10 saved recipes, unlimited ingredients, the core recipe economics workflow, and current Production Calculator calculations. Premium removes the recipe-capacity limit and unlocks new production-history saves plus PDF and share/send output. Store billing for the US release is not live yet, so no US price is shown here.
No. RecipeGain focuses on recipe costing, yield, profitability, production quantities, reusable ingredient data, and recurring recipe maintenance. POS, inventory, purchasing, and accounting operations are outside the current core product.
A saved ingredient purchase price can be updated. RecipeGain can identify affected active recipes and recalculate their connected cost and pricing results from the new source price.
Yes. Optional preparation labor and recursive saved-recipe subrecipes are part of the accepted current product. Packaging and energy are not presented here as first-class current cost categories.
The current core workflow is offline-first and has no mandatory account. Local backup and portable recipe-transfer features provide data portability without implying cloud-team collaboration.
